Lecture 3.0 - The Future of Teaching and Learning

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This session will engage users in a discussion around the evolution of lecture. How can we compete with today’s technology and distractions without losing the integrity of our academic work? We will share the various lecture schemas and strategies that have worked in keeping up with the changing landscape. Let’s discuss how technology has impacted the way we teach, the nuanced relationship between teacher:technology and how we can leverage technology to strengthen that relationship between teacher:student during the lecture. Is all lecture bad? Should it be replaced or can it evolve and how can we force that evolution? We’ll tackle these questions and leave middle/high school participants with ideas they can take back to their school on how to re-examine their own teaching styles. Apps we will discuss include: Nearpod, Keynote and ClassKick. Audience: Intermediate to advanced skill level.
