Social Media: Engagement and Assessment

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Simulating social media feeds using a learning management system in the classroom creates space for students to practice historical empathy and alternative points of view and demonstrate content mastery. Students assume roles from various time periods and react to scenarios presented in "real-time" to synthesize historical facts and primary sources and create historically empathetic points of view. Rubrics provide feedback and gain insight into mastery. Attendees comfortable with tech will interact with tools to experience activity first hand. Presenters will provide resource and rubrics. Session topic may be tailored to fit all school levels. See all presentation information at http://www.castilleja.org/iteach2016
